What happens in an adult circus class?

We understand that you might be wondering what you will do in a circus class. Let us tell you! Our classes are all 60 minutes long. When you arrive we have an area for you to leave shoes / coats etc. Valuables can be brought into our training space. We have two toilets and parking on site.

Classes will start with a warm up to get your body ready for exercise (cardio, mobility and stretching). Then you will spend time with our instructors learning your circus skill. The class ends with a cool down stretch.

To make your experience with us the best it can be, all adult students booked into a block of circus classes have access to the following complimentary classes, at no additional cost.

1. Thursday evening flexibility class at Riverside Church. Class time 7pm - 8pm.

This class follows the Alixa Flexibility method to lengthen and strengthen your muscles.

2. Sunday evening circus fitness. This class is at Adventure Circus. Class time Sunday 6pm - 7pm.

This class uses our aerial apparatus and body weight exercises to help you to get extra strong for taking part in aerial classes. It is most aligned to a circuits class, but is designed specifically for circus strength building.

3. Sunday evening yoga for holistic health to support relaxation and improve mental wellbeing at Adventure Circus. Class time Sunday 7pm - 8pm.

If you can make all of the complimentary classes, this equals incredible value for money! We do our best to apply for funding to make these classes included at no extra cost. We have funding for this until at least March 2024.

If you can’t make these classes, we have at home workout videos for stretching and strength building. Just let us know if you would like them and we can send you the link!

Below we have some videos of our instructors explaining the aerial apparatus and some beginners moves.

A hammock or sling is a short piece of fabric hung like a hammock. It is a great introduction before taking on silks but has great possibilities on it’s own.
