Save our circus, and workout at home!
Thank you for the messages of support we have received since closing at the weekend, we have been really humbled by your kindness, We're so happy and lucky to have such a great community. We hope that you are all keeping safe and well.
So that we can help you (or your child) to be as fit as possible for returning to circus, Suzie and Gemma have filmed some videos for home workouts that are specific to our training.
I have included our adult students, as well as our older youth circus and teen students in this email, so you can still get your circus fitness fix! If you are a young student, this will prepare you for moving up our levels!
Our videos
- WorkUs fitness class - a shorter workout (about 30 minutes long) and is an interval workout, where you exercise for 45 seconds, and then have a rest for 15 seconds. Easy and harder options are explained and shown throughout.
- pull up bar workouts - an easy and a harder version (both about 20 minutes long) and include core strength tummy exercises too, to give arms a rest. Again we work to time and do 30 seconds of work, and15 seconds of rest.
- how to do a handstand tutorial with fitness conditioning for improving your strength for handstands (about 20 minutes)
- short and relaxing yoga session (about 15 minutes). Not us, but it is a nice wee relaxing escape.
- how to make your own juggling balls from things you have in the house
- beginners juggling tutorials
We hope to add some more videos such as stretching, and hula hooping in due course.
To access these videos, we are suggesting a minimum donation** of £25 via our website link below, and then we will send you a link to our YouTube playlist. If you are financially effected by the pandemic, then we will still send you the link, just email admin@adventurecircus.org and we will send it on.
Our fundraising goal
Our goal is to fundraise enough money to cover our warehouse rent and other monthly overheads (insurance / utility bills / licences) over the coming months.
It costs us £601.50 per month just to meet our minimum operating costs, so over the 2-3 months that we might be shut, this will add up to over £1800. We have some reserves for emergencies, and we will also apply for any social enterprise / government grants we are eligible for.
This minimum goal does not include instructor fees. We all teach as self employed, and no classes, workshops, parties and festivals operating means no income. We better get open again soon!!
Fundraising progress!
Thanks to our generous students and instructors, we have now reached £1, 105! Thank you so much, we really hope to reach our target of £1,800 to secure our future.
